Background

Background

The United Nations projected that human population will reach 9.2 billion by 2050. The increasing population need more food including animal products. The increasing demand is not only in the number but also the safety of the product, welfare of the animal and  environmentally friendly. On the other side, our environmental is entering the Anthropocene epoch: the geological age characterized by human influence on the planet. Resources available for human activities are becoming limited and unevenly distributed.

Several efforts have been done by scientists from several countries to anticipate the millennium challenge and improve animal production system. To gather information on recent advances of the efforts and in an attempt to disseminate the results, the Fourth International Seminar on Animal Industry (ISAI) will be conducted following the great success of the previous ISAI in 2009, 2012 and 2015. The theme of the Fourth ISAI is “Harmonizing livestock industry development, animal welfare, environmental and human health”.

The program of the Fourth ISAI will include plenary sessions by international well recognized experts in their fields and supported by parallel sessions presented by participants. The presentation will be grouped into several aspects such as breeding, genetic, reproduction, nutrition, physiology, feed technology, animal product technology, meat science, grassland science, animal enviroment, animal welfare, animal agribusiness and logistics. Participants to this seminar come from faculty members, researchers, farmers, government officers, businessmen, and related stakeholders.

In accordance to this seminar, Youth Forum will be conducted in order to give space for our future scientists to share their idea and build networking. Forum logistic Peternakan Indonesia (FLPI) will also conduct a mid-conference session to synchronize effort of logistic expert in improving animal product security and distribution. For our guess, we also offer an opportunity to joint an excursion visiting tourism sites and farm surround Bogor city.

It is a great opportunity for animal scientists and industrial communities to take advantage from this event by sharing knowledge and experience in this prestigious Fourth ISAI.
